Budtender Stories: The Lookah Seahorse Pro
I’ve always been into concentrates, going way back to when there were really only 2 kinds. One was of course, your classic (usually imported) HASH, and the other “Pot Butter” which was made by many adventurous stoners back in the day….You know, that one big day when everything happened all at once.
I digress. The coolest thing about concentrates is all the new and different varieties coming out practically every day. The sheer number of dab rigs and vaporizers available these days is massive, there’s really so many to choose from that even I really wasn’t sure what devices to start with, but one thing I did know is I wanted something where I did not have to use a torch.
Naturally, I would have LOVED to have started with a Puffco Peak or Peak Pro, however this is currently out of my price range so I figured I would start out with the Lookah Seahorse Pro.
The product comes with an attachable rubber tube so you can connect it to a bong or water pipe. I opted to not use this attachment. My Seahorse Pro came with one porcelain tip. There are several styles of tips available for this item. The porcelain is supposed to have the best flavor. There are 3 settings which are all pretty good, ranging from a low vape setting, a medium and a high burn setting.
Starting with Tangie Land by Doghouse, which is a really delicious and potent wax. The device worked great right out of the box, and delivered excellent hits. The flavor profile and terpines were out front and the vapor tasted amazing.

I noticed when screwing the tip onto the main device that it cannot be tightened too much or it won’t work and will flash multiple times. The Lookah Seahorse Pro while a good portable dab rig, is not an ideal product, mainly due to the tip. I think any item with disposable tips that need replacing every few weeks should come with more than one tip. Also be aware, there are several different versions of the Lookah Seahorse. You need to be extra careful making sure you have the correct tips because the packaging looks very similar. It’s easy to buy the wrong tips and get stuck with them, since these products are non-returnable and cannot be exchanged at most shops it’s sold in.
I’m happy to say, that the battery worked great for me and I only had to charge it every two days. After about 3 weeks the tip gets very clogged due to pores in the porcelain and although I have been burning off excess resin from the tip and cleaning it out after every use, it still builds up to the point where the flavor becomes less than desirable.
I would love to see some titanium tips for these instead of the current options which seem designed to be thrown away regularly. Not a particularly eco-friendly.
On the upside…The Lookah Seahorse Pro can also be used as a 510 vape cart battery which definitely adds value to this product. It comes in a variety of colors and I opted for purple. It’s cool looking design is attractive. The products is just not as practical as I would like.
Over all the Lookah Seahorse Pro is good but not great. I’d recommend it only to seasoned concentrate smokers and dabbers. If the company could come up with tips that can easily be cleaned and don’t have to be replaced so often, this could be a really hip and essential paraphernalia item. The retail price is very reasonable as is.
For now, this is a cool novelty. Final rating 6.5 (or maybe a 7 stars ) out of 10.
