Featured Artist: Alessandria Rosa
Join us Thursday, Feb. 9 for the West Seattle Art Walk. This month we are featuring the works of local artist Alessandria Rosa. Through life experiences and emotion, Rosa creates a variety of art through the mediums of paint, ink, and found objects. Visit the Culture Shop between 5-8pm, meet the artist and mingle with your neighborhood friends! Plus join in the HeArt Walk Bingo hosted by the West Seattle Art Walk!
My art is often expressive and emotional and is created using a variety of mediums such as paint, ink, and found objects. Rather than adhering to a predetermined set of rules or restrictions, I create art intuitively, using my own emotions and life experiences as inspiration. The goal of my work is to communicate something personal and meaningful to the viewer, and to connect with them on a deeper level.
I utilize my work to communicate and process my feelings about healing from trauma, staying present, and connecting to the divine energy of the natural world. There are many ways that I convey these themes in my art, and the specific approach will depend on the emotional impact of the experience I am working through.
My ultimate goal is to serve as an example of how to express the process of redemption via spirituality and to release pain through art. For myself and maybe even the viewer, I want to provide a cathartic outlet.
HeART Walk Bingo
This Thursday will be extra fun with the West Seattle Art Walk’s themed night, HeART Walk Bingo! Here are the details per WSArtwalk.org:
The rules are simple: head on down to your favorite participating Art Walk business, and ask for a bingo card on February 9th. Then, visit businesses throughout the walk to find stickers matching your bingo board. Any WS Art Walk guest that collects 5 or more stickers can submit their bingo card to any of the businesses on the back of the bingo card.
All cards collected will be entered into a drawing for a specially curated Valentine’s Day Basket, with lovely items contributed by our art walk local businesses.
This is a fun way for the whole family to celebrate love for art and community this February!”
