West Seattle Art Walk featuring local artist PhilipMack!
Join us Thursday, August. 13th from 5-8pm for the West Seattle Art Walk featuring local artist Philip Mack Drawn 2 Draw!
Philip Mack started drawing January 15 2015 after a dispute with his tattoo artist. The artist stopped the session after being offended and told Philip to return the next day with a drawing or be quiet and let him do his job. Philip resorted to Youtube and after a couple hours of utter failure he said “It was like a light switch had been flipped and he began seeing things on paper he’d never seen before. He began drawing large faces but stayed in that comfort zone until his dad, (his biggest support) asked for a drawing of an Amish farm scene. Not able to tell him no, he began drawing subjects he never thought possible. He now sells his artwork full time, working out of his home in Puyallup. He has won numerous awards for his artwork and hosts an annual Arts for Alzheimer’s art fundraiser every March. He feels so blessed that his community has embraced his art and allows him to continue to live out his dream.
