Halloween 2020 will be like no other. #Halloween@Home! Trapped inside, our kids will trick or treat at home this year, for likely the first time in history. Yippee! My munchkins, specifically, will get to knock on each door in our home and scream, “trick or treat!” Mommy or daddy will then answer the door and run some sort of silly, strategic interference at each stop so that the other parent can run to and ‘mask up’ behind door number’s 3, 4, 5 and 6, and so on.
This is totally my wife.
Halloween tricks of any kind require extreme creativity and advance planning. Customizing each room, in our case, takes work. As is the trend with this pandemic mode we live in, everything we do to compensate for being quarantined is kind of exhausting, even if you don’t have kids. Do you feel me? If so, here’s a killer recipe for a vegan, Green Punkin Mousse, from the famous Mary J White, West Seattle’s top THC and CBD chef! Eat this and you can decide what happens afterwards!
VEGAN GREEN PUMPKIN MOUSSE
To serve two people pumpkin mousse, you’ll need the following:
6 oz. nut or soy milk yogurt
1 C. pumpkin puree
1 Tb. pumpkin pie spice
½ tsp. salt
2 Tb. brown sugar
1 Tb. cannabis tincture, either glycerin or oil based; if you don’t make your own, try Green Revolution Avocado Oil tincture – great stuff
2 Tb. sliced toasted almonds (use a nut that matches your yogurt; almond w/almond, coconut w/coconut, etc.)
In a medium bowl, mix the pumpkin, spice, salt, sugar, and tincture. Depending on the sweetness of your yogurt you can adjust the sugar proportions here; I like to use brown sugar as it gives the mix more body. Now get two cute glasses and start layering. Do yogurt, pumpkin, nuts, yogurt, pumpkin, nuts, and end with the nuts. You can use other nuts or seeds, or crumble your fave GF cookies in there – as long as you have some crunch, otherwise you’re just eating fun orange baby food. Chill these until service and plan on smiles!
