THE TERPENES
The two most dominant terpenes in the Alki Sunset definitely influence its taste, effects and wellness benefits.
TERPINOLENE
The first is terpinolene, also known as alpha-terpinolene. This terpene is can be found in sage, rosemary, lilacs, cumin and nutmeg. It adds those herbaceous, woodsy and floral notes that makes this strain so tasty!
Research has shown that terpinolene as an essential oil, may have antibacterial and antifungal qualities. More recent studies suggest it may also have the potential to reduce the risk of heart disease when combined with other nutrients and may possibly inhibit the growth in cancer cells.
Even though terpinolene is most often found in sativa strains that are higher in THC content, it’s still considered lightly to moderately sedative.
