Is Phat Panda Comfort Weed?
Guest Writer: Herb Green
There have been moments during the Coronavirus pandemic, quite a few actually, where I have had to reach for Phat Panda. It is a smoker’s move analogous to a regular craft beer drinker opting instead for Jack Daniels on the rocks. Blame the stress on the unknown, combined with political, social and climate unrest. Blame it on the fact that our family home, much like your’s, is now a home, school and place of business.

Sometimes the stress meter surpasses my comfort level. That’s when I typically light up.
As of late, however, the stress meter has seen major spikes, mostly because my wife is deemed essential and a select few of her co-workers couldn’t say no to a family reunion in Idaho, or a wedding in Oregon and tested positive with COVID.
This has caused a couple of familial fire drills where we all go on lockdown while my wife gets tested for COVID. Waiting for the results is maddening, but those COVID tests are kind of brutal. They hurt, and she cries afterwards.
When something causes my wife pain I really stress out. That’s when I reach for the Phat Panda.
Like an avid beer drinker keeps a stash of Jack Daniels, handy for guests and for their own stress rewinds, I keep a stash of the Panda handy. Right now that stash is the Panda’s Han Solo Burger. The ‘Burger contains a head-slapping 31% THC and unlike a majority of the sun-grown and cured weed I smoke, the Panda’s ‘Burger’s buds are like little rocks of kief. Put them in a grinder and poof – instant kief. Plus it is a sativa – something that actually calms me down, whereas an indica gets me too fired up. Yeah, I’m that guy.
My ‘Burger stash is running low though and Fall is upon us. A somewhat uncertain and stressful Winter to come. I heard a rumor that Canna West Seattle is in possession of a few ounces of Phat Panda’s Golden Pineapple strain right now, along with a bevy of other choices in ¼ oz sizes and below. If I get there early Friday morning, those ounces of Phat Panda’s cheeriest and most euphoric sativa strain, will hopefully still be available, plus I will be greeted by a 20% discount. That’s right, a 20% off on all Phat Panda flower is taking place this Friday at West Seattle’s coolest dispensary, Canna West. They are open on Friday from 8 am until 11:30 pm. You know what to do.
